Excel-to-BI transition planning
What moves, what stays, in what order, and what it costs to maintain afterwards.
United Kingdom · London · Power BI & BI
Most London firms we work with already have Power BI through their Microsoft agreement, so the question is what belongs in it. Our answer is standardised recurring reporting, with anything requiring judgement staying in Excel.

Most of these run 18–32 hours. The estimate is written down before anything starts, and exceeding it needs your agreement rather than an invoice note.

Why London specifically
Clients for this are typically in the City, Canary Wharf, Shoreditch and the Thames Valley corridor, across financial services and fintech, insurance and Lloyd's market firms, professional services, property investment, and the UK arms of international groups. FCA-adjacent reporting, group consolidations and models built for a reviewer.
For the wider picture of what we see in this market — the recurring problems, the source systems, how the time difference plays out — the London guide covers it properly rather than repeating it on every service page.

Volume, refresh frequency, audience size and who maintains it. Sometimes the answer is that Excel is fine.

Questions
Answers for this service in this market, including the ones that might cost us the job.
Ask us something elseNo. Scenario work, one-off adjustments and anything a reviewer needs to interrogate directly belong in a spreadsheet. Moving those into BI usually produces a worse process that costs more to maintain.
Almost never entirely. Excel remains the best tool for scenario work, ad-hoc analysis and anything a human needs to interrogate directly. The realistic outcome is BI for standardised recurring reporting and Excel for everything requiring judgement.
The cleanest answer is usually that we do not process personal data at all — most of this work can be done on anonymised or synthetic datasets that preserve structure without real records. Where personal data is genuinely necessary, we work under a written data processing agreement covering international transfer, and you should have your DPO review it. We will not wave this away as a formality.
