Workbook audit
A structured review: broken references, hard-coded values inside formulas, circular logic, key-person risk, and what would happen if the author left.

Reviews here often end with us recommending less spreadsheet, not more. When three systems disagree and someone senior reconciles them by hand each month, the fix is usually a query rather than a better workbook.

Why San Jose specifically
Clients for this are typically in North San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and Downtown San Jose, across B2B SaaS, semiconductor and hardware operations, enterprise software, and venture-backed companies preparing for a funding round or an audit. SaaS metrics, board decks and the spreadsheet that has outgrown itself.
For the wider picture of what we see in this market — the recurring problems, the source systems, how the time difference plays out — the San Jose guide covers it properly rather than repeating it on every service page.

Questions
Answers for this service in this market, including the ones that might cost us the job.
Ask us something elseWe give it anyway, and it costs us the larger engagement often enough that you can take it seriously. Excel is right for scenario work and board presentation; recurring high-volume aggregation belongs in SQL.
We can substantially harden a workbook — controlled assumptions, protected formulas, failing checks, documented procedure. Whether that satisfies a specific regulatory standard depends on the standard, and anyone promising blanket compliance for a plain Excel file is overselling it.
No — we are remote and there is no Bay Area office. For most of what South Bay companies hire us for, that is not a limitation: the work is model building and reconciliation, done over shared files and screen share. We are direct about this because a fake local address would be an odd thing to trust a financial model to.
